Basketball Drills, Skills, & Play – Ages 9-14

This class is designed to improve players’ basketball skills through structured drills, contents, and games. Each class includes a half hour of drills and half hour of games/contests; players will be separated by age and skills when possible. Participants will work on fundamental techniques such as dribbling, passing, shooting, and defense and apply what they learn in a game setting. This class offers a way to take players’ game to the next level.

Open 3 on 3 Basketball – Ages 10-14

Different teams are made each week, and athletes will play 3 on 3. Players will be separated by age and skills when possible. 3 on 3 is a great way to teach spacing, allow athletes to have the ball in their hands more which accelerates development, and emphasizes teamwork.

Boys Preseason Drills, Skills, and Play Clinic – Ages 12-14

This clinic is designed to help prepare players for tryouts and the upcoming basketball season. Skills, conditioning, and play will be emphasized.

CAVS Moondog Mini Dribblers – Ages 5-8

Children will learn the basketball fundamentals in a fun and exciting atmosphere. The hour class will be filled with different contests and games. Athletes will be able to perform a dribbling routine before a Cavs game during the 2025-2026 season. Each athlete receives 1 free ticket (game TBD), and parents/guardians will have the ability to buy additional tickets. Cost includes a T-Shirt and a ticket (Cavs ticket 1 per athlete even if they do multiple classes).

Holiday Basketball Clinic – Ages 8-14

This clinic is intended to increase players’ skill level through a fun and exciting atmosphere. Players will be taught basketball fundamentals, participate in skills contests, and play games.

Adaptive Basketball – Ages 13+

This adaptive basketball class is for special needs kids and adults ages 13 and up. Class will focus on the fundamentals of the game of basketball. We will work on passing, dribbling, and shooting drills and encourage positive peer interactions and team building skills.

GYMNASIUM RULES

  • Lack of respect or the use of foul language toward other people and/or equipment will not be tolerated.
  • No throwing of any balls against the walls, fixtures or backboards.
  • Please refrain from hanging on the nets or rims, playing music without headphones, horseplay and spitting on the floor.
  • Sport specific and clean footwear is required. Black soled shoes are not permitted. Sandals, street shoes and bare or stocking feet are prohibited.
  • Proper (no inappropriate, suggestive or vulgar words or graphics) shirts/tanks/shorts/warm up suits and pants are required. Jewelry that poses a risk as well as clothing that exposes one’s bare midriff is prohibited.
  • The MCRC assumes no responsibility for personal injuries and is not responsible for lost, damaged, broken or stolen items.
  • Children under the age of 14 are prohibited from using the gym without a parent/guardian (age 18+) present in the facility at all times.
  • Non-authorized team practices are prohibited.
  • Food and/or gum is not permitted. Drinks are permitted in a sealed container with a lid. Glass containers are not permitted.
  • Alcohol, drugs, weapons, smoking, and vaping is prohibited.
  • Place all trash in receptacles provided.
  • Outside trainers are not allowed.
  • Any other guidelines deemed necessary for the safety and comfort of the guest will be enforced.
